"WHIPLASH" is a term that is being used more and more within the healthcare arena, and for good reason. Once thought to be “non-existent,” the mechanisms and symptoms of whiplash are now much more understood by those who study and treat it. Now, multiply that activity by at least a BILLION. That in and of itself is almost incomprehensible! This is the perfect analogy for the volume of nerve communication that takes place through the Upper Cervi

"""6 to 8 sessions of upper cervical and upper thoracic manipulation were shown to be more effective than mobilization and exercise in patients with Chronic Headache, and the effects were maintained at 3 months.""" Fantastic stuff! However, we see daily that COMBINING the two approaches (upper cervical adjusting & corrective exercise) can provide even BETTER outcomes. Stabilize, then strengthen!

Earlier this week, we had the honor of being able to wake up the 7am A/B day Anatomy & Physiology classes at Hough High. Instead of talking about bony landmarks, insertion points, or dermatomes, we talked about Oreos, Ketchup packets, and Slinkys.
While the standard stuff is important, we believe that an UNDERSTANDING (hearing, seeing, feeling) of how the body works comes from having fun! And boy did we have fun. Thanks, class!!!

Ok, so. We are NOT going to try and tell you to stop looking at your phone (even though you know you should spend less time on it!). Instead, let's change some habits so that we can minimize the RISK FACTOR for chronic neck pain. Or, put the phone down, perform some gentle stretches, grab a glass of water, and then continue the Scroll.
That wasn't so
At Keystone, a component of our Structural Examination is a Neuro Thermal Analysis. These NeuroThermal images are a representation of the body’s ELECTRICAL SYSTEM via measurement of heat. Similar to electrical wiring in a house powering all the appliances, the nerves in our body feed all the organs and muscles. Important job, to say the least. No one wants a malfunctioning toaster oven when the kids are demanding Toaster Strudels ... Our internal wiring system gives off HEAT,
