What is Upper Cervical Chiropractic?
Upper Cervical Chiropractic is a specialty focus within the larger field of chiropractic, evaluating what is referred to anatomically as the Craniocervical Junction (CCJ). Simply put, it's the upper portion of the human neck where it meets and supports the head.
The spinal segments at this junction, Atlas & Axis, have unique characteristics that make them the “weakest link” in the spine and as such, susceptible to injury. Slips and falls, poor posture, sports injuries, whiplash, and car accidents are just a few of many factors that can contribute to structural instability in the upper neck region.
The goal of Upper Cervical Chiropractic is to identify and correct an Atlas Displacement (AD). AD is a condition involving abnormal alignment, mechanics, and nervous system function stemming from the upper cervical region. This misalignment can have a complex of painful secondary effects, commonly known as symptoms:

Dizziness & Vertigo
Headaches & Migraines
Post - Concussion Syndrome
Temporomandibular Dysfunction
Pinched Nerves
Upper & Lower Neck Pain
All this trouble from such a small area?
The relationship of the Atlas & Axis to the structures above and below is a complex one, however, it can be summarized as a Balance Equation.

For various reasons, some folks experience more Spinal Symptoms, while others have more Neurological Symptoms. One thing remains constant, however, in that the Atlas is still the fulcrum point for the majority of these symptoms. Stabilizing the upper cervical spine can be the re-balancing needed to reduce or eliminate symptoms.

Keystone is a unique niche clinic in the healthcare realm. This is not by accident, but rather by intentional design.
We saw a glaring need for patient-focused healthcare, and we’ve made it our mission to continually stay ahead of the curve with Evidence-Informed methods and true cutting-edge technology.
Keystone exists to educate, empower, and instill independence. Along the journey through these phases, patients gain clarity and confidence in being able to take care of themselves.
This creates Health Autonomy, which we believe is one of the major components lacking in healthcare today.

Healthcare shouldn’t be confusing or create anxiety, so instead of the traditional “business-to-consumer” transactional approach, we’ve elected to focus on the human-to-human experience.
This value-driven model aims to over-deliver, at every turn.
